Car with bald tyre stopped by PSNI in Carrick

Police took to social media at the weekend to urge motorists to inspect the condition of their tyres after a car with a defective tyre was stopped in the Carrick area.

Posting on Facebook on Saturday, October 23, a PSNI spokesperson said: “Officers from Road Policing in Steeple stopped a vehicle in the Carrickfergus area.

“On inspection, this was the state of the rear tyre (pictured). Alarmingly, there was a young child in the car. Please check your tyres regularly.”
