Caught brawling in street

A Lurgan man has been given a three month jail term, suspended for three years, for disorderly behaviour.

Caolan Shannon of Rampart St, Lurgan pleaded guilty to the offence at Craigavon Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

The court heard that on February 18 this year, police came across an incident where two males 
 were fighting.

When the police asked what was going on Shannon retorted that the police were not required.

Craigavon court was told that it was 8am and Shannon was fighting with his uncle and it spilled out onto the street.

Deputy Judge Neil Rafferty said that he felt that Shannon is someone who realises that if there is something hanging over his head he would behave.

He asked Shannon if he had a drink problem and would he like help.

The court was told Shannon had attended his GP for this issue.

Shannon was sentenced to three months in jail suspended for three years on the disorderly behaviour charge.
