Charged with theft and false accounting

A 52 year old man has returned for trial to Craigavon Crown Court charged with theft and false accounting.

Marcel Mackle, Lakelands, Craigavon, appeared last Friday at a preliminary enquiry in the local courthouse.

He is charged with the theft of £17,615 in cash belonging to the Edward Street hostel between March 31, 2011, and September 8, 2012.

Mackle also faces seven charged of false accounting on dates between 2006 and 2011 involving sums totalling £51,445.27.

He was returned on his bail of £500 to appear for arraignment on September 26.
