Charity director is sentenced for fraud

A former charity director from the city received a suspended sentence for fraud when he appeared before Antrim Crown Court.

Eddie Kerr (61), of Ashfield Terrace, was convicted of a total of 10 charges committed between 2009 and 2011.

They relate to funding applications for the charity SEEDS and the charges included fraud by false representation, forgery and using a false instrument.

Kerr was convicted of the charges after a trial at Londonderry Crown Court.

The 61-year-old defendant received a two year jail sentence, which was suspended for two years.
