Lisa Thompson (33), of Cunningham Way, Antrim, is accused of handling a stolen iPhone belong to Mr Cheung’s wife Winnie and with perverting the course of justice by providing a false account of the movements of her estranged husband - one of three men accused of the murder of Mr Cheung and the attempted murder of his wife Winnie, on a date between January 6-9.

They are: Gary Thompson (32), of Cunningham Way; Virgilio Augusto Fernando Correia (33), from Grant Avenue, Randalstown; and Christopher David Menaul (25), from Barra Street, Antrim.

Applying for bail at Ballymena Magistrates Court, Lisa Thompson’s barrister Neil Moore said that any application had been forced to wait pending the outcome of a separate court case involving his client.

He said Thompson’s acquittal in the other case earlier this week had removed a “substantial sticking point” to her application for bail in this case.

Thompson was released on her own bail of £500, with one similar surety, to reside at Simon Community premises in Belfast.

She was also ordered to report to police at a PSNI station in Belfast three times a week and was banned from entering Antrim or Randalstown.

Thompson will also be electronically tagged, subject to a curfew between 10pm and 7am and ordered to surrender her passport.

Her case was adjourned until July 2.
