Children as young as 12 spotted by PSNI probing anti-social behaviour

Children as young as 12, reportedly with glass bottles in hand, were spotted in various area of Portadown at the weekend

Police were at various locations after several reports of anti-social behaviour in the town.

The PSNI said call to them started at around 4pm on Saturday.

A spokesperson said: “Reports of groups gathering in Shillingtons, Bann Bridge, Meadow Lane, Pleasure Gardens and the Boat Club with numbers given in 10s, 30s and even 50s.”

They said there were reports those involved were aged from 12-18 with reports of glass bottles in hand.

The PSNI asked parents to keep an eye out for their children and make sure they are not in town with their mates and not adhering to the COVID-19 restrictions

“When we appear they ran off in various directions.

“Please have a conversation about what can happen in firstly, in these groups; but secondly, from a covid perspective.
