Convicted in his absence

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Galbally man who failed to show up for court.

Michael Owens, 31, from Lurgylea Road, was convicted of possession of cannabis in his absence.

The court heard how the defendant was approached by police at Windsor Terrace in Coagh after they detected the smell of cannabis on May 19th.

A search discovered a bag and tin containing herbal contents. He made a full admission at the scene.

District Judge John Meehan issued a bench warrant for his arrest following conviction.
