Commenting on the incidents, a spokesperson for the local authority said: “Our parks and green spaces are valued areas for recreation, and have significant benefits for people’s health and wellbeing across the Borough.

“Council officers noticed some dog waste bins have been pulled off their stands in the Valley Park over the weekend.

“The impact of this has been the additional clearing up of waste around these locations rather than a direct cost for bin damage. Staff continue to clear up these areas and put bins back in place as they are noticed. We would ask users to respect the facilities, and to report any acts of vandalism they may see.”
