Court appearances

A 24-year-old man is expected to appear at Londonderry Magistrates Court on March 14, charged with possession of a Class B substance and cultivating cannabis. He was arrested following the search of a house in The Old Fort Road area of the city on February 28th. As usual the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.

Further, A 39-year-old woman is expected to appear at Londonderry Magistrates Court on the same date charged with taking a motor vehicle without authority, driving while disqualified and having no insurance. She was arrested after officers stopped a car on Bond Street on February 29.

Meanwhile, a man in his 40s has been arrested following a report of suspicious activity in the Baronet Street area of the city at around 12.20am on March 1. A quantity of copper piping was seized and the man is currently helping police with their enquiries.

And a 75-year-old man is expected to appear at Limavady Magistrates Court on March 21 charged with failing to provide a specimen of breath after he was stopped on the Greystone Road during the early hours of March 1 on suspicion of drink driving.

As usual, all of the above cases will be reviewed by the PPS.
