Police in Carrickfergus are investigating a report of criminal damage at the Marine Gardens Play Park, Scotch Quarter.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Sometime between Saturday January 8 and Sunday morning, January 9, a fire has been started in the park causing substantial damage to the play area which is now going to have to be replaced.

"Police are appealing for information in relation to the damage. If you saw or know anything, please contact 101 and quote serial number 476 of 9th Jan 2022.”
