Cullybackey: Sleeping boy hit in head with brick

A 12-year-old boy was hit in the head by a brick which was thrown through his bedroom window in Cullybackey in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Police in Ballymena are appealing for information following the incident in the Kilmakevit Square area.

Shortly before 1.30am it was reported that a 12 year old boy who was asleep in bed was injured after a brick was thrown through his bedroon window. He was hit in the face by the brick and sustained swelling above his eye and was left badly shaken by his ordeal. His mother who was also in the house at the time was not injured. A number of other windows in the house were also smashed during the incident.

A motive has yet to be established and Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone who saw anyone in the area of Kilmakevit Square to contact them at Ballymena Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
