Daylight robbery in Lurgan

Police were tasked to McCormack Gardens at around 2pm on Friday, 2 May after receiving a report of an alarm sounding at a house.

“Entry was gained to the house and a sum of cash taken,” said a PSNI spokesperson.

“Three teenage males were observed making off from the house towards the primary school. One of the males is described as being in his mid to late teens and was wearing a light blue baseball cap, navy tracksuit bottoms and a light blue top.”

DUP Councillor Carla Lockhart said she is ‘disgusted’ at the most recent burglary in the Grey Estate.

Cllr Lockhart said: “I heard of this burglary on Friday afternoon and I immediately went to visit the home that had suffered at the hands if these thugs. It was a scene of devastation, and I was gutted as I saw a family so hurt by what had happened to their property.

“This burglary happened in broad day light. It happened on a street that has been tortured with burglaries and it was owing to an alley-way remaining accessible to the rear of these houses. Unfortunately another family has been subjected to loss and distress by individuals who have no respect for those who want to live their life in peace.
