Dishonestly used electricity

WHEN police and electricity officials went to house in Craigavon they found that the electricity meter had been tampered with.

Forty one year old Gerard Patrick Weir, of Clanrolla Park, Craigavon, was fined £250 last Friday at the local court for dishonestly using electricity at 78 Meadowbrook on April 19.

The court heard the offence came to light when police and electricity officials went to the house and found that the meter had been tampered with. The amount that had been dishonestly used came to £1,315.70.

The defendant admitted the offence and had made arrangements to pay back the amount.

Mr Paddy Moriarty, representing the defendant, said Weir’s estranged wife was the account holder.
