Liam Kenneth McLoom (26), of Lismoyle Road, Kilrea, was also fined £200 with a £15 offender levy for having no Vehicle Test Certificate or driving licence on August 23 last.

Counsel prosecuting told the court the charges arose out of a single vehicle collision at the Hervey Hill Road and Bovedy Road junction around 9.30pm. The lawyer said McLoom was cautioned in relation to the matter and later made a full admission.

Defence lawyer Dean Mooney said the defendant had just recently purchased the vehicle and was driving it home.
