A Maghera motorist has been charged with driving while disqualified.

Grzegorz Calder (44), whose address was given as Meetinghouse Avenue, also faces a charge of having no insurance at Castledawson Road, Magherafelt on October 15.

A Public Prosecution Service lawyer told Magherafelt Magistrates Court on Wednesday that the defendant had a previous for driving while disqualified.

District Judge Oonagh Mullan said she would require a pre-sentence report before dealing with the matter, and adjourned the case until October 21.
