Dromara visit as part of home security scheme

MEMBERS of Lisburn’s Policing and Community Safety Partnership have been out and about around Dromara as part of a newly launched home security scheme to address crime and fear of crime among older and vulnerable people across the Lisburn City area.

The launch saw Chairman, Councillor John Palmer and PCSP members, with Minister Edwin Poots, distribute packs containing personal and property alarm systems and other security items to residents of rural Dromara.

Councillor Palmer said, “This is an excellent scheme to provide practical support to address crime and fear of crime in our community, particularly in rural areas.”

The home security scheme has four tiers of delivery and is implemented on a referral basis by a number of agencies which include the Council, police, health trust and Northern Ireland Housing Executive.

It enables the agencies to make referrals in order to provide essential security and safety related repairs to the homes of vulnerable people’s homes.
