Drugs seized during Larne search

Police arrested a 21-year-old male after recovering a quantity of a Class A controlled drug in a property in Larne over the weekend.

The drugs were sezied after the male was stopped by police after they observed him driving “erratically” in the early hours of Saturday.

In a statement issued to the Times, a PSNI spokesperson said: “Police on patrol in Larne arrested a man after observing a vehicle being driven erratically in the Ballyhampton Road area in the early hours of Saturday (May 1).

“The 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol in breath and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

“Following the search of a property in the town, he was further arrested on suspicion of drugs-related offences, including possession of a Class A controlled drug. He has since been released on bail, pending further enquiries.”

Sergeant Armour added: “Our enquiries are continuing. Anyone with information, or who may have captured dash cam footage, is asked to contact officers on 101 quoting reference number 120 of 01/05/21.”
