Dungannon couple fined for insurance issues

A couple have fined at East Tyrone Magistrates Court for charges relating to driving without insurance.

Edvardas Cepukas, 23, of Killymeal Road, Dungannon is charged with using a motor vehicle without insurance, while his partner, Simona Velaityte, 23, of the same address is charged with permitting using a motor vehicle without insurance.

A court was told how police on July 29th last year, observed Mr Cepukas driving a vehicle on the Killymeal Road, which only had a policy of insurance for a female driver.

When police spoke to Mr Cepukas he made a full admission that he had no insurance policy to drive his partner’s vehicle.

Deputy District Judge McCrisken fined Cepukas £315 and disqualified him from driving for a period of 6 months, while Ms Velaityte was fined £315 and had her licence endorsed with six penalty points.
