Sinn Fein Cllr Paul Duffy said: “Residents in part of Ballyoran Park have been plagued throughout the COVID pandemic by anti-social behaviour, drinking, drugs and loud music.

“This area is constantly being cleaned by the council and the PSNI patrol the area regularly .

“There are elderly people who have lived here for a long time and who are, once again, talking about moving as the situation has become that bad.”

Cllr Duffy said one resident remarked there are a lot of good people in this area but the ones causing trouble come from nearby estates.

“They wouldn’t get on like that on their own doorstep. I have asked the police to take a firmer line.

“There have been numerous incidents and request to not congregate in this area but they have fallen on deaf ears. They have no respect for the people who live in theses homes.”

Cllr Duffy said he had raised these issues with government bodies and called for long term solutions including the building of more disabled adapted bungalows.

“In the meantime I would once again ask these people to go elsewhere are do something constructive with their lives and give these people a break.”
