Elderly Upperlands resident hit by burglary

Detectives in Mid Ulster are appealing for information following the burglary of an elderly person's house at Drumnacanon Road in Upperlands yesterday.

Detective Constable Alan Ford said: "It was reported that sometime between 10:30am and 3:45pm on Thursday, March 30 was gained via a locked rear living room window which was forced open and the property ransacked.

"Investigations are ongoing to establish if anything was stolen.

"The householder involved was quite elderly and I would appeal for householders in the area to be vigilant as a result of this incident.

"Detectives are appealing for anyone with information who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or have information about the incident or to contact the non-emergency number 101 quoting CCS 771 30/3/17.

"Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
