Extra PSNI patrols to tackle rise in anti-social behaviour in Newtownabbey

Police are promising additional patrols in Newtownabbey over the weekend in response to a rise in complaints about anti-social behaviour by young people.

In a social media post this afternoon, PSNI Antrim and Newtownabbey said “extra police patrols will be out and about the district”.

Police added: “We are responding to community issues of anti-social behaviour right across our area.

“Reports of ASB have increased over the last few days and we will be responding to your concerns.

“You can report via 101 or even report online if there are any ongoing issues, but better than that have a word with your children-before they go out, know where they are and check they are behaving themselves.”
