Festival link with children’s cancer charity

The NICFC help and support children living with cancer and their families through difficult times, offering practical, emotional and financial support.

The local organisation help hundreds of families through hard times every year but will aim to put a smile on people’s faces as they climb the hill to Glasgowbury 2012.

As well as having a physical presence on site to raise awareness of their work, the festival will also welcome back the ‘Busk Stop’ which will see performances from festival acts and some special guests throughout the day who will play to raise money for the charity – members of the public are also encouraged to pick up an instrument and play.

“As a charity ourselves, we understand the importance of raising awareness and funds to continue year round activities,” said festival organiser Paddy Glasgow.

“Each year Glasgowbury works closely with a designated charity to raise awareness and some much needed resources for a worthwhile cause and we’re delighted to be helping out such a hard working charity this year.

“The Busk Stop is something we introduced in 2010 to encourage acts to continue the party after their set but we’re excited that this year it will have a purpose and as well as seeing some acts up close and personal, including some special guests, people will have the chance to donate to the charity.”
