Fined for drug possession

Kevin McShane (34), Campbell Walk, Lurgan, was also ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

The court heard that a small amount of cannabis, 53 milligrams, was found in his van.

His solicitor said it was a very small amount. He had previous convictions of a similar nature.

He added that ten weeks ago the defendant’s child was born and cannabis was now not an option.

The solicitor said that McShane’s father, who is a contractor, said that if he stayed on the ‘straight and narrow’ there would be a chance of work.
