Fined for speeding on Glenshane Road

A 30-year-old Cookstown motorist was fined £80 with three penalty points for a speeding offence on the Glenshane Road, Maghera.

The court was told Stephanie Millar from Millburn Park in the town, was detected travelling at 70mph, ten over the limit for the roadway on January 17 this year.

Prosecuting counsel told Magherafelt Magistrates Court on Wednesday the defendant was offered a fixed penalty notice but she failed to take it up on time.

The judge also ordered the defendant to pay a £15 offender levy.
