Fined for using mobile phone

A Craigavon man has been fined £100 for using a mobile phone while driving.

Robert Michael McDowell from Ennis Close, Craigavon was accused of using a phone on the Old Portadown Road, Lurgan on May 5 this year.

Craigavon Court heard on Wednesday that the 48-year-old had denied using the phone while driving. Deputy Judge Neil Rafferty fined McDowell £100, ordered him to pay a £15 offenders levy and gave him three penalty points. He said McDowell’s licence would be suspended until he hands it in.
