GBH accused (29) remanded on bail

A 29-year- old man was charged with a serious assault offence when he appeared last Thursday at Banbridge Magistrates Court.

Alexander James Turkington of Meadowvale, Waringstown, is alleged to have unlawfully and maliciously inflicted grievous bodily harm on a man on August 30 last year.

He is also charged that, having been released on bail on September 14 last year, he failed to answer bail as soon as was reasonable.

A police officer told the court he believed he could connect the accused to the charges.

A public prosecutor said that there was medical evidence and CCTV outstanding andasked for a six week adjournment until September 8.

Turkington was remanded on his own bail of £200.
