‘Hate crime’ appeal

A SO-CALLED ‘hate crime’ in which a petrol bomb was thrown at a car is being investigated by the police.

The PSNI are appealing for information following the attack on a car parked in the driveway of a house in the Lone Moore Road area of Londonderry on Tuesday night last, May 17.

A PSNI spokeswoman said: “Around 9:30am a petrol bomb was thrown through the rear driver’s side window of the silver Mazda which ignited on the back seat. The car is completely burnt out. A male in a balaclava was seen running off in the direction of the cemetery.”

Police investigating the incident are appealing for information and are keen to speak with anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area.
