Although benign on their own, the Coroner John Leckey found when taken together they had become a lethal combination when taken in conjunction with alcohol.

The inquest was into the death of Margaret McIntyre, who was found dead at a house on Florence Street on January 8, this year. The inquest heard that she had consumed a moderate amount of alcohol at the time of her death. She had also taken Codeine, Citalopram, Diphenhydramine and Diazepam.

Coroner John Leckey told the deceased’s family none of the substances on their own would have caused her death but the combination proved to be fatal.

“This is fairly common,” he said.
