Keith Baker, accused of sex slavery, to face November trial

Keith Baker, accused of a litany of sex charges including rape and imprisoning a woman for eight years, is to face trial in November.

The Craigavon man, who is currently in custody in HMP Maghaberry, faces six rape charges as well as a charge of false imprisonment and inciting a person with a mental disability to perform a sex act.

The 59-year-old is also charged with a number of other sex offences including indecent assault on a woman.

The offences are said to have occurred between 15 March 2004 and 20 December 2012.

Baker has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The defendant was not in court this morning.

The court heard that while Baker is on bail, he has been unable to ‘perfect’ that bail and is still in prison.

Judge Patrick Lynch set the date for trial for November 23 this year.
