Knifepoint robbery at Ballykeel

Two men aged 55 years old and 24 years old have been arrested following a report of a knifepoint robbery at the Crebilly Road, Ballymena area yesterday evening (Monday 22nd September).

Inspector McCausland said: “Shortly after 7:10pm, it was reported that a 19 year old man was assaulted by a male close to a youth club in the area. It is believed the male was head-butted and threatened with a knife by the male during the incident. A sum of money was taken during the incident as the male made off in a purple Peugeot car.

“The male was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment to his injuries, that are not believed to be life threatening.

“Both men were arrested a short time afterwards and are currently in police custody.”
