Larne police conducting checkpoints in bid to deter criminality

Officers from the Larne Neighbourhood Policing Team are conducting high visibility patrols and vehicle checkpoints in the town today (Wednesday).

Detailing the operation, a PSNI spokesperson said: “The weather isn’t great again this morning, but your Neighbourhood Policing Team are out again today around Larne.

“We will be conducting vehicle checkpoints and high visibility patrols.

“We do this to detect and deter criminality, but it also gives us a great opportunity to engage with the local community we police.”

Meanwhile, motorists are being advised to approach the Coast Road with care following a landslide in the area.
