Larne police identify rogue trader who targeted pensioner

Police officers in the Mid and East Antrim district have issued advice to the local community after a rogue trader targeted an elderly resident in Larne.

Detailing the incident in a post on social media today (Friday, August 21), a PSNI spokesperson said: “Police were made aware of a rogue trader who offered to do work at the home of an elderly member of our community.

“The trader took a deposit from the elderly customer and neither returned to the address, or had the work completed.

“Officers in E section in Larne PSNI attended, identified the offender, investigated the allegation and sent the file off to the District Magistrate via the Public Prosecution Service.

“Don’t fall foul of these traders. Check their ID, check they are legitimate and if in any doubt, call 101 or in an emergency 999.”
