Machete ‘mugging’ in Harryville

Detectives in Ballymena are appealing for information after a report of an armed robbery in the Harryville area in the early hours of this morning (Saturday 10th May).

At around 3:15am, it was reported that two males were walking along Railway Street when they were approached by three unknown males, one armed with a machete.

It is believed that one of the assailants threatened one of the men and stole a sum of money, jewellery and a mobile phone.

Neither of the two males are believed to have been injured during the incident but left badly shaken. Enquiries are continuing.

Detectives would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the robbery or who has any other information that could assist the investigation.
