Man, 35, has 135 convictions
A man with a catalogue of offences has appeared in court charged with theft and burglary.
In the dock was John Paul Harkin (35), of Milldale Crescent, who pleaded guilty to charges of burglary, theft and criminal damage between January 8 and 14, last year.
The court heard that Harkin had 135 previous convictions and had admitted breaking into a pound shop.
Sentence against him was adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be compiled.
The accused was remanded in custody until February 9.
