Police thanked those who contacted them yesterday after they apprehended a man whose car was ‘in a really bad state’ but ‘not as bad as the car he crashed into’.

Writing on Facebook Police Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon said: “I would like to thank all those who phoned in yesterday about the dangerous driver. Thanks to the prompt phonecalls we were able to get the driver arrested.

“As you can see the car was in a really bad state. But not as bad as the car he crashed into. The driver was arrested for a list of offences.

“We really appreciate the help we get from members of the public. Without your help it may have taken much longer to apprehend this driver and who knows how much damage he may have caused.

“I would be confident saying he would have caused serious damage to himself, his passenger or other members of the public if we didn’t get him arrested.”

The PSNI did not say where the incident happened.
