Man arrested following cannabis factory discovery

A 38-year-old man has been arrested in Donaghcloney following the discovery of a cannabis factory in the William Street area of the village last night (Saturday).

Officers acting upon information received by members of the local community called to the address and after speaking to the occupant discovered 40 cannabis plants and various other drugs related paraphernalia.

The man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a class B drug, possession with intent to supply a class B drug and cultivation of cannabis. He is currently in custody helping police with their enquiries.

Following the seizure Area Commander, Chief Inspector Anthony McNally said, ”Officers have been working with the local community in the Craigavon area to tackle the issue of drug supply and distribution. The discovery of this cannabis factory is an indication of our commitment to remove drugs from circulation. This is an example of how our work with communities can help to reduce the threat posed by drugs.
