Man arrested over fatal collision

Police in Londonderry have confirmed that a 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the fatal road traffic collision in the city on Wednesday of last week and that he is currently helping police with their enquiries.

Tullyally resident Davy Ritchie, aged 69, died later that evening following the collision. He was one of three people injured in the collision, and admitted to the Accident and Emergency Department at Altnagelvin Hospital.

Police have again appealed for anyone who saw a black Vauxhall Astra and a silver Vauxhall Astra being driven on the Glenshane Road in the time leading up to the collision to contact the Collision Investigation Unit at Strand Road on 0845 600 8000, or, the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
