Man assaulted on his way home

Police at Strand Road are appealing for witnesses to an assault in the Westland Street area of Londonderry on Monday, August 3.

“It was reported that as a man was walking along the street at around 10pm he was set upon by a number of males and punched and kicked to the ground. The man required medical treatment for cuts to his head and face and a bite mark to his chest,” a PSNI spokesman said.

“One of the attackers was described as being around 6’ tall, in his late teens or early 20’s, of thin build with short dirty fair hair,” he said.
