Man charged with possessing indecent images of children

A Portstewart man has appeared at court in Coleraine on charges relating to alleged possession of indecent images of children.

Sean Martin French (52) from Ardmore Drive faces four charges - possession of an indecent photo of a child; making an indecent photo of a child; possession of an “extreme pornographic image”; possession of a prohibited image of a child.

The charges relate to dates between March 1, 2010 and December 6, 2011.

A police officer said he believed he could connect Mr French to the charges.

The accused was released on his own bail of £500 and is not allowed to have contact with children unless agreed by Social Services.

The case was adjourned to May 30.
