Man escapes jail for urinating in public

A 23-year-old Lurgan man was told if he re-offends he will go to jail after pleading guilty to urinating against a wall in Market Street.

Gareth Carson from Glenfield Road admitted indecent behaviour and disorderly behaviour following an incident on February 23 this year. Judge Mervyn Bates said Carson has a history of breaching orders and described it as ‘stupidity’ to allow himself into a situation which could warrant immediate custody.

Already serving a community service order, Judge Bates ordered Carson to carry out a further 100 hours. “If you re-offend, there will be no alternative but jail,” he said.
