Man in court on burglary charge

A man has appeared in court in Londonderry, charged with burglary.

Alan Paul Doherty (26), with an address at Collon Lane in the Cityside, is accused of breaking into a flat on Northland Road in July last year.

The prosecution told the court that a laptop, a pair of straighteners and a passport were among the items stolen during the incident.

On hearing the evidence in the case, the presiding District Judge released Doherty on bail and banned him from contacting the alleged injured party in the case.

Doherty was ordered to 
appear in court again on March 6.
