Police are hunting for three men, one armed with a bat, after a ‘vicious’ attack on another man during a burlgary.

The male occupant of the house in Portadown was taken to hospital.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the incident which happened on the Tandragee Road last Thursday (April 30)

Detective Sergeant Wilson said: “We received a report at around 2:50pm that three males, one of whom was reportedly armed with a wooden bat, entered a property on Tandragee Road and attacked the male occupant.

“The victim sustained an injury to his head and to his hand, and he was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.

“This was a vicious attack, and I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area around this time on Thursady, between 2:30pm and 3pm, and saw any suspicious activity.”
