Man jailed for drugs offences

A CRAIGAVON man was jailed for five months last Friday at the local court for a series of drugs offences.

He was 28 year old David Michael Quinn, of Deans Grange, Craigavon.

He admitted unlawful possession of cocaine and herbal cannabis with intent to supply, unlawful possession of Viagra and unlawful possession of Viagra with intent to supply, possession of counterfeit money and possession of a medicinal product in contravention of the Medicines Act.

The court heard that on March 13 this year a search was carried out at the home address of the defendant.

Drugs and cash were seized and scales and dealing bags were also found.

A solicitor for Quinn said he faced financial difficulties and became involved with the wrong crowd.

She added that on remand was the first time he had spent any time in prison and he was determined to turn his life around. He had started to tackle his addiction problems while in custody.

Quinn was sentenced to five months on each of the offences with the prison terms to run concurrently.
