Man threw a punch during brawl outside town centre bar

A 21 year old man was fined £200 last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for disorderly behaviour on June 2.

Martin O’Hagan, Hillcrest Mews, Craigavon, admitted the offence through his solicitor, Mr Felim Rafferty.

The court heard that at 1.15am a police mobile patrol saw a disturbance outside a Lurgan town centre bar.

Two people were pushing and shoving each other. The defendant threw a punch into the face of the other person and both parties then wrestled each other to the ground.

The other person left the scene before police could establish if he had any injury.

Mr Rafferty said O’Hagan had been in the bar and this other party had assaulted another individual by head-butting him.

He added that the defendant spoke to the bouncers and they went to look for the assailant but could not find him.

O’Hagan found him outside and there was an altercation where they ended up grappling on the ground. He was slightly inebriated.

District Judge, Mr Alan White, said he could deal with the matter by way of a fine.
