Man to appear in court on Carrickfergus assault charge

Detectives investigating a report of an assault at the Blackthorn Park area of Carrickfergus on Friday, April 24, have charged a 28-year-old man with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Wednesday, May 27.

As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

The male was arrested on Friday (May 1) as part of the ongoing police investigation.

Another 28-year-old male, who was also arrested on Friday as part of the investigation, has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
