Masked men attack victim with metal bars

A man has been seriously assaulted by masked men wielding metal bars during an attack in Taghnevan.

The 35-year-old had been walking along Dingwell Park when he was approached from behind by a number of men.

The men wore balaclavas and hooded tops and attacked the man with metal bars before running off up an alley way.

The man suffered injuries to his hands and head and required hospital treatment, according to the PSNI.

Police are appealing for information about the incident which happened at around 9pm on Wednesday, 18 September.
