Men’s’s fingerprints ‘found on bin tape’

Fingerprint evidence has emerged linking two Ballymena men with an incident in which a man was found naked and badly injured in a wheelie bin, a court has heard.

Teri Christopher Bernard Lau (26), of Dunclug Park, and David Roddy Patterson (26), of Glendun Drive, are accused of the attempted murder and false imprisonment of Adam Robinson on September 3.

A Public Prosecution Service lawyer told Ballymena Magistrates Court forensic evidence had been received which stated that both Lau and Patterson’s fingerprints had been found on tape allegedly used to seal the bin.

She said that further DNA evidence in the case is expected to be compiled by January.

A third co-accused, Paula Wilson (20), of Millfield, who faces the same charges, appeared via a separate videolink hearing at the same court.

All three defendants were remanded in custody to appear again on December 12.
