Motorist arrested in Newtownabbey after M2 pursuit

Police have apprehended a male driver in the Newtownabbey area following a “short pursuit” on the M2 motorway.

Detailing the arrest operation in a post on social media today (Thursday), a Police Road Policing spokesperson said: “Following a short pursuit on the M2 motorway, Road Policing officers from Mahon Road have arrested a male driver on suspicion of driving whilst unfit, disqualified driving, no insurance, failing to stop for police and handling stolen goods.

“Police would like to extend their thanks to the two HGV drivers involved.”


The male driver was arrested for a number of offences.
