Motorist banned from roads for three years

A woman with a Portstewart address detected driving whilst unfit - her fourth such conviction - has been given a four months jail term, suspended for three years, and been banned from driving for three years.

Sarah McKinney (32), of Central Avenue, came to police attention after leaving Tesco in Coleraine on November 23, 2020, and a blood sample showed she had Diazepam in her system.

At Ballymena Magistrates Court, District Judge Nigel Broderick said it was the defendant’s fourth similar conviction.

He told her: “If you do this again you will probably go to prison. This is very much your last chance”.
