Motorist on 'test drive' in a T-Roc did 81mph in a 40mph zone at Templepatrick
A motorist who hit a speed of 81mph in a 40mph zone whilst on a "test drive," has been banned from the roads for six weeks.
The 36-year-old was detected in a Volkswagen T-Roc at 1.05pm at Antrim Road, Templepatrick, on Friday March 6 this year.
At Antrim Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena on Tuesday, a defence solicitor said the defendant – Kyle Dunlop, of Kilcoole Park, Belfast – had been on a "test drive" and was "coming out of Templepatrick".
District Judge Nigel Broderick said the defendant had been doing "double the speed limit" and banned him from driving for six weeks along with a £200 fine.
